Medical initiatives
Our medical initiatives provide students with the opportunity to support community health through meaningful, hands-on service in the Dominican Republic. Participants work alongside local healthcare professionals to assist with clinics, health education programs, and sustainable wellness projects designed to meet the unique needs of each community. By engaging directly in these initiatives, students gain a deeper understanding of public health challenges, build practical skills, and contribute to lasting improvements in the health and well-being of the communities they serve. Designed specifically for pre-med and medical students, these initiatives offer hands-on experience in global healthcare settings.
Sustainable development
Our sustainable development initiatives in the Dominican Republic focus on creating durable, environmentally responsible infrastructure that meets community needs. Using recycled plastic bottles as building blocks, we construct homes, bathrooms and are currently building a community clinic. These projects are developed in close partnership with local leaders to ensure sustainability, practicality, and long-term impact, while giving participants hands-on experience in construction, community engagement, and meaningful service.
Cultural immersion
Our cultural immersion programs give students the opportunity to engage deeply with the rich traditions, history, and daily life of Dominican communities. Through home visits, local partnerships, and hands-on experiences, participants gain a firsthand understanding of cultural practices, social dynamics, and community values, while also developing their Spanish language skills. These experiences foster empathy, cross-cultural awareness, and meaningful connections, allowing students to grow personally while building relationships that enrich both their own perspective and the communities they serve.
Reforestation efforts
Participate in reforestation projects that enhance food security and empower local communities across the island, cultivating permaculture gardens and planting cocoa and coffee trees, all while fostering a sustainable and thriving future for both people and nature.
